Blackberry Maps vs Google Maps
Blackberry Maps
Pros:
- Includes Pinch to zoom
- Come Preloaded on every Blackberry Free
- Has a route planner for Car and walking journeys
- Able to view journeys on map or as a list view
Cons:
- Does not have Turn By Turn Navigation
- There is no satellite view only a map view
- Uses Bing so results are not as accurate as you would like them to be
- Does not include Voice navigation
Google Maps
Pros:
- Includes a satellite, terrain and map view
- You are able to see yourself moving on the map, this can be useful to see if you are going in the right direction (take note: this feature does use more battery)
- Includes a route planner for car, public transit and walking journeys
- Ability to see jouneys in map or list formats
- integrates with Google latitude, so you can stay up to date with your friends and Contacts
- Includes the ability for street view
Cons:
- Does not include pinch to zoom
- Does not include Turn By Turn Navigation
- Does not include Voice Navigation
- Does not run as smooth as Blackberry Maps
Overall I prefer using Google Maps for its street view and satellite view functionality. The ability to see my self moving on the map is also an excellent and handy tool. If Google Maps is running slowly or not functioning as it should, Blackberry Maps is a good alternative.

My Top 4 Free Blackberry Torch Themes
This is a list of my top 5 free themes for the Blackberry Torch. My choice is based on originality and creativity so here goes.
4. Sense (by Travis)
"Features:
• HTC “Sense like” interface
• Full navigable (with trackpad & touch) home screen, with 19 buttons:
- 3 on top area : Manage connections, Clock & Calendar

- 4 Android-like icons on bottom (Mail, Text messages, Browser and Contacts)
- 3 buttons on bottom side (left to open hidden dock, middle to phone call, right to open applications list)
- 4 buttons on hidden dock, with fixed apps (ringtones, pictures, BBM & Appworld); the hidden dock is not present on landscape visualization

3. Gi-Phone
Gi-Phone may look like another copy of the iphone interface but this theme is VERY fluid and like all GDK themes has almost no impact on your Blackberry's battery or peformance.

2. Naturize (by BerryGlowDesigns)
"It's easy on the eyes - the highlights stand out (even on sunny days), the shades and gradients of green through out the menus and lists make reading texts easy. The icon focus is based on the concept that the red notification dot actually blossomed a bit"
Naturize features the much better 6.1/7.0 Blackberry Icons and combines this with a simple and subtle yet elegant background.

1. G-Droid 5.1 (by DGK Designs)
This theme require BerryWeather for the weather widget.
G-Droids combines the brilliant widgets and icons of Droids with a stunning wallpaper and yet this theme does not slow your blackberry at all and there is absolutely no extra battery drain.

New search bar feature
As you may have noticed I have added two new search features on the right hand side of the page. Use the top one to search for anything related to Blackberry, iPhone etc.
The results come from my top list of blackberry and iphone forums and sites including Crackberry, Modmyi and of course Berry-buzz.
There is also another search bar below the first one. You can use this to search the web as it is basically a google search and it'll display results from any site on the web, I have made it that google suggests products and results also related to Blackberry and iPhone.
So if you want to searc for topics related to Blackberry and iPhone then use the top search bar.
If you want to search the general web then use the one below that.
